About the art

What I create is an expression of what I think, what I perceive and what I am guided towards in any given moment. I paint for my well-being, for mind, for my heart and for my soul.

Once the artwork is finished, it belongs wherever it goes and to whomever it speaks to, then, it is you – I painted it for.

Creative process

I am inspired by everyday life as well as imagined realities. I may be influenced by a glimpse, a pattern, a conversation, light in the sky, a piece of poetry; or thoughts on life, purpose and meaning.

I try to remain open as I move paint, brush, hand, arm and body – to let go and be completely with the piece.

Media/Tools

As an experimental artist working mainly in acrylics, I sometimes push the paint deeply into the canvas, or barely feather it with lightness. I also use inks, charcoal, additives, pastels and collage; and experiment with various tools and materials.

I love to use white and neutrals, marvelling at how much can be expressed with minimal tint, shade, or texture. Alternately, I might cover canvases with colour to express energy, movement and emotion.

I work in a variety of sizes and shapes, so the art can fit into peoples’ lives and spaces.
